What is an accumulator bet?

An accumulator (or ‘Acca’) is a multiple bet containing more than one selection.  To win an acca bet, every bet selection within your accumulator must win.  Accumulators are available on any sport, and virtually any type of selection.

Typically, acca selections are made up of result coupons, where you bet on the outcome of a match by home win, away win, or draw.

If a single bet selection in your accumulator loses, the whole acca will lose.  This is why many bookies run promotions which give you back your accumulator stake if just one selection lets you down, otherwise known as ‘acca insurance’.

You’ll also find ‘acca boosts’ or ‘enhanced accas’ which are promotions that increase the total odds of your accumulator.  These work by incrementally increasing the total odds of the acca by a percentage based on the number of selections you choose.  So for example, a fourfold acca may be boosted by 4%, a fivefold by 5%, a sixfold by 6%, and so on.
